SSTM - Senior Scientific Technical Manager Advanced Manufacturing & Future Concepts US Army DEVCOM
Driven by the National Strategy for Advanced Manufacturing and the Army Transformation Initiative (ATI), the US Army – in close collaboration with Joint Forces – is rapidly accelerating the adoption of advanced manufacturing (AdvM) to enhance warfighter capabilities across all echelons. This strategic shift prioritizes the seamless transition of technologies and concepts from the Institutional Army to Operational Forces, ensuring sustained readiness in an evolving threat landscape. By fostering innovation, cultivating strategic partnerships, and investing in a skilled national workforce, the Army aims to leverage the transformative power of AdvM to achieve a decisive battlefield advantage and maintain a lean, lethal force.
Coordinated through the Advanced Manufacturing Community of Practice (AdvM CoP), this effort is modernizing facilities, expanding equipment capabilities, and fundamentally reshaping how civilian and military forces collaborate. A dual-focused approach – developing both novel capabilities and innovative operational constructs – will accelerate AdvM implementation and optimize the broader Defense Manufacturing Ecosystem.
