Siemens Energy leverages advanced manufacturing techniques, particularly Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) and Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM). These innovations have enabled us to efficiently produce components for our Gas Turbine / Steam Turbines / Compression fleet, ensuring improved performance, reduced emissions, and shorter lead times. Since 2006, we have been committed to expanding additive manufacturing capabilities. We have developed LPBF & WAAM process parameter sets for various materials, including Inconel alloys, steels, and reactive alloys. Siemens Energy sees additive manufacturing as a proven process for hardware production and are seeking long-term partnerships to foster mutual growth. As both a user and a service provider of this technology, we are dedicated to promoting its successful application in similar markets to ours. From an AM perspective, we aren’t all things to all people. We strive to develop relationships which have common interests to ours.
Learning Objectives:
Understand that AM is in full serial production in the Energy industry
Outline the materials, use cases and recent challenges that have been overcome
Understand the power of AM when designed for the ultimate end use.
