Additive Manufacturing Manager
Optisys
Garrett is the Additive Manufacturing Manager at Optisys. In this role, he oversees everything related to additive manufacturing (technology roadmap, machine maintenance, machine qualification, daily production, working with contract manufacturers, etc.). Optisys, a designer and manufacturer of advanced 3D printed antennas, provides the aerospace and defence industry with next generation communication solutions.
Garrett is the founder and President of Building A.M. - Utah, a group dedicated to building a local community of those who are interested in or involved in 3D printing.
Previously, Garrett was a researcher at BYU, published on heater design principles for 3D printed microfluidic devices and designing what was, at the time, the world's most isothermal microfluidic device.
Garrett is a proud husband and father and is a 2025 SME 30 under 30 honoree. He serves as a student mentor for BYU's science and engineering colleges. His microfluidic research has been cited internationally and his work at Optisys led them to be nominated for 3D Printing Industry's 3D Designer of the Year award two years in a row.
