Nicole McMInn

Nicole McMinn is a Biomedical Engineer for the 3D Medical Applications Center (3D MAC) at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Nicole earned her BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. She worked at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), first as a research fellow in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) Office of Science and Engineering Labs from 2015-2016 and then in the Office of Product Evaluation and Quality as a Lead Reviewer of orthopedic devices from 2016-2020. Nicole served as one of the magnetic resonance (MR) subject matter experts for the Office of Orthopedic Devices, and acted as Team Lead of the Shoulder Team from March 2020-June 2020. In her current role at 3D MAC, Nicole applies different types of additive manufacturing techniques in support of medical applications. Nicole uses her prior experience at FDA to implement a medical device quality management system and submit medical device applications to FDA.
