Dr. Ravi Mayavaram serves as Vice President of Solver Development at Altair Engineering, Inc., where he has been a key contributor since joining the company in 1997. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Mayavaram has been involved in a wide range of manufacturing and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) projects. His current role encompasses the development and management of manufacturing solutions, including Altair’s comprehensive suite of tools for widely used manufacturing processes, which are built on the user-friendly Inspire framework and supported by advanced, highly accurate solvers. Dr. Mayavaram collaborates closely with both solver and interface development teams, leveraging his extensive expertise in numerous manufacturing processes. He is actively engaged in the research and development of these solutions.
Dr. Mayavaram earned his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University (USA) under the supervision of Prof. J. N. Reddy, with a dissertation focused on the “Numerical Simulation of Film Blowing Process.” He also holds an M.S. from IIT Madras (India), where he conducted research on turbulent flows and heat transfer under the guidance of Prof. K. N. Seetharamu.
