Graduate Researcher
Pennsylvania State University
Jacklyn Griffis is a final year Ph.D. candidate at the Pennsylvania State University advised by Dr. Guha Manogharan. She specializes in the evaluation of bi-metallic interfaces fabricated through multi-material laser powder bed fusion (MM-LPBF) in the Systems for Hybrid-Additive Process Engineering (SHAPE) Lab at the Center for Innovative Material Processing through Direct Digital Deposition (CIMP-3D). Jacklyn received her M.S. (2024) with a focus on Additive Manufacturing and Design from Penn State University and a B.S. (2022) from the University of Florida, where she served as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Chapter president. She has been twice awarded the Naval Research Enterprise Internship (NREIP) at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD), where she contributed towards thermomechanical simulation of maritime alloys using large scale directed energy deposition. In her work, she has developed an expertise in the LPBF process, relevant materials, mechanical characterization and advanced design techniques.
