Vice President
MELD Manufacturing Corporation
Dr. Chase Cox is Vice President of MELD Manufacturing Corporation, where he leads efforts to expand the industrial adoption of Additive Friction Stir Deposition (AFSD) within the defense and aerospace sectors. His work focuses on helping organizations evaluate, adopt, and deploy AFSD for applications constrained by conventional forging capacity and fragile supply chains.
Dr. Cox’s background in AFSD began with early demonstrations of the process across a wide range of materials, establishing its technical breadth and reliability. Those efforts helped form the foundation for MELD’s current production-capable solutions in AA7075, AA6061, and Ti64. He now applies this experience to guide customer programs from initial technical evaluation through system integration and production use.
His current priorities include advancing awareness, qualification, and field deployment of AFSD as a practical manufacturing process capable of producing aerospace-grade forgings in an additive configuration. His experience bridges engineering, operations, and sales leadership, with a consistent focus on aligning technology performance with real production needs and lowering barriers to adoption.
