Ibrahim Yousif is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Visiting Faculty in Digital Manufacturing & Artificial Intelligence at Miami University’s Advanced Manufacturing Workforce & Innovation Hub. His research focuses on cognitive manufacturing, emphasizing the development of autonomous manufacturing systems, digital twins, AIOps, and computer vision to enable reliable, safe, and scalable production systems. His recent projects include Safety 4.0, gamified hazard training, synthetic data generation, and cost–benefit analyses for digital transformation and AI adoption. His work has been featured in Forbes and recognized by the U.S. House of Representatives, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and other professional organizations.
Prior to joining Miami University, Ibrahim spent several years in industry, serving in engineering and managerial roles with leading OEMs and Tier-1 manufacturers, including Tesla, Trane Technologies, Magna International, and Schneider Electric. He led cross-functional teams delivering large-scale manufacturing automation and digital transformation programs exceeding $120 million in total value. Yousif holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from London South Bank University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina.
