Dr. Alexandra Vest is a mechanical engineer at US Army DEVCOM AC Benet Labs focusing on metals additive manufacturing. Her current work isa multitude of metals AM processes (laser powder bed fusion, fused deposition modeling, directed energy deposition, etc.) and how to best apply them for use in the Army. Her PhD thesis was completed at Renssealer Polytechnic Institute in 2023, and her focus was modeling the residual stress field in laser power bed fusion (LPBF) produced Inconel-718.
