Senior Manager, Additive Technologies Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology
Across the transportation industry, using additive part fabrication and repair processes are gaining momentum to enhance maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and sustainment of critical parts and legacy components. This is resulting in improved repair lead times, reduced asset down time, reduced inventory and a myriad of other benefits.
This presentation will provide a brief overview of the AM technologies that are leading the way, then look at specific case studies that show the range of MRO capabilities available through this powerful set of tools. We will examine relevant case studies from across the Transportation industry and will discuss the present and future impact. Case studies will look at recent examples of powder and wire-based processes, hybrid manufacturing and casting replacement.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to: Understand the range of AM technologies available for MRO and sustainment
Upon completion, participants will be able to: Describe how they are used to enhance MRO and sustainment
