PhD Student
University of Waterloo
Rene Lam is a PhD student at the University of Waterloo currently specializing in metal additive manufacturing. Her research at the Multi-Scale Additive Manufacturing Lab (MSAM) focuses on design, modeling, process development and characterization of porous materials with an application in orthopedic implants. With a BASc in nanotechnology engineering, she applies her understanding of how micro-scale architectures can affect mechanical properties on a macro-scale. Passionate about additive manufacturing and biomedical applications, she strives to bridge the gap between engineering innovation and healthcare solutions.
