Dr. Paul W. Witherell is the Associate Program Manager of the Measurement Science for Additive Manufacturing Program at NIST and leads the Advanced Informatics and Artificial Intelligence for Additive Manufacturing project within the program. His primary objectives at NIST are to develop and transfer knowledge to industry, including knowledge pertaining to information models and data science for additive manufacturing and system level analysis. His specific job focus is on identifying integration and technology issues that promote industry acceptance of information models, product representation standards, data science, and open architecture that will enable rapid design-to-product transformations. He is active in ASTM, ISO, and ASME additive manufacturing standards efforts. Paul is a Fellow of ASME.
