Dilrukshi Abeyrathne is a Research Manager and Technical Lead for Data Infrastructure and Data Science at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center, University of Maine. She leads the development of data-driven frameworks that integrate machine learning, high-performance computing, and digital thread technologies to support large-scale additive manufacturing and materials research. Specifically, her current work focuses on developing and managing the Digital Thread, Material Process Property Warehouse (MPPW), a provenance-rich data infrastructure that enables AI-assisted analytics and continuous learning in manufacturing environments. In addition, she leads several data science initiatives focused on image and thermal data-based anomaly detection and quality assessment in additive manufacturing.
She previously served as a lecturer and researcher at Republic Polytechnic, Singapore, and the University of Maine, and holds a B.Sc. from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and an M.Eng. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Spatial Information Science and Engineering at the University of Maine.
